Our wastewater treatment facility is located on the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border, close to the M5, which is permitted to recycle a wide range of non-hazardous wastewaters and sludges. This closed loop collection and treatment solution ensures peace of mind for our clients.

Thanks to our deep haulage roots, we know just how important it is to keep heavy goods vehicles maintained and their drivers safe. In addition to our workshop services, we have implemented various driver facilities at our own secure truck stop, just off the M5 in Gloucestershire.
Here, lorry drivers can rest, enjoy hot food and drink at our own café (The Hut), and take a shower, safe in the knowledge that their vehicle is parked in a clean and secure environment and its load is protected by CCTV monitoring and 24/7 manned security. Visiting vehicles, too, can be refuelled and cleaned at our custom-built truck wash, and we even have an on-site laundrette to wash bedding ready for the next leg of the journey.
At a time when secure lorry parking is limited, we are working tirelessly to ensure that drivers are protected and have the respect that they deserve. In addition to our Teddington Hands truckstop, we are also developing other, similar facilities in Evesham and Avonmouth. Keep up to date by signing up to our email newsletter.
Our history dates back to 1985, when William Gilder started the business as an agricultural contractor. It was during this time that he saw the opportunity to buy and sell farm machinery. This, and the purchase of his first truck, provided the foundation for the growth and diversification which is still seen today.
We now have over 200 employees across our various divisions and partner companies and while our services have expanded, we still maintain our proud history throughout our operations. William owns a farm close to our head office, rearing livestock and growing crops which supply The Longhorn Bar & Grill, located at the Teddington Hands truckstop and which opened to the public in 2023.
The Longhorn, managed by William’s wife Deborah, gets its name from the British Longhorn cattle raised at the family’s Worcestershire-based farm. This breed is instantly recognisable by its long curvy horns and its good fat content makes for a high quality of meat.
Next door is Teddington Stores, affectionately known as Teddy’s by the locals. Here, you’ll find fresh local fruit and vegetables, cheeses, and an abundance of other delicious produce. It is also where the premium steaks and joints similar to those enjoyed at The Longhorn can be prepared by our own on-site butcher.

Developing the environment in a sustainable manner is at the heart of our work. We have held the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems since 2009 and have successfully implemented numerous projects across our sites. These range from installing solar panels at our office facilities to ensuring our vehicles adhere to the latest Euro 6 emissions regulations and outputs from wastewater treatment at our Toddington site are returned to the land as fertilisers, therefore ensuring the ground maintains its nutritional health all-year round.
We have also secured work to treat reservoir water with barley straw, a natural means of controlling algae growth without the use of harmful chemicals, and we work closely with the agricultural sector to recycle a range of products to land (including anaerobic digestates, and biosolids from the treatment of wastewaters).
Our primary environmental goal is to minimise the consumption of energy, water, and natural resources. This approach aligns with the concept of ‘One Planet Living’ (Bioregional/WWF, 2002), and we aim to achieve that goal by maintaining best practice in the following areas, in accordance with our Environmental Policy Statement:
